Payment Policy
For Aetna clients, co-pays are due and sessions are billed to insurance at the time of the service. All other sessions are private pay and payment is due at the time of service. I use a HIPPA-compliant app called Ivy Pay for payments collected in the office.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full session fee.
Insurance
I am an Aetna provider for Counseling services only. I accept all Commercial Health Plans, and I will verify your insurance benefits with Aetna before beginning treatment. Please note that I will charge your co-pay at the time of the session. You are able to store debit/credit/HSA on file with me for ease of payment. Aetna considers Neurofeedback to be an experimental treatment and does not cover services.
For all other clients, I am considered an out-of-network provider. I can provide superbills for possible reimbursement if your insurance plan offers out-of-network coverage. This means you would pay for your sessions out of pocket and then submit the superbill paperwork to your insurance company for reimbursement.
To find out if you have out-of-network benefits, please contact your insurance provider directly and ask about your behavioral health coverage.
Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance company:
What are my out-of-network benefits for therapy and/or neurofeedback?
Do I have a deductible? If so, what is the amount I need to meet?
What is the process for requesting reimbursement if I use my out of network benefits? What paperwork does my insurance company require for reimbursement?
How much will I be reimbursed for a therapy session when I submit my paperwork to insurance?
Are there any limitations to my behavioral health benefits such as a limit on number of sessions per year, which therapists are covered under my out-of-network benefits, or a limit on how much I can be reimbursed for out-of-pocket costs?
How will diagnostic codes and procedure codes assigned by the therapist affect my insurance coverage?
